BSc (psychology and Counselling)
Dayna is registered as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. She has been working in the mental health field since 2008 within residential care, AOD services, forensic and community based mental health settings.
Dayna welcomes diversity and has experience working across the lifespan seeing children, adolescents and adults presenting with a range of complex mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, adjustment disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She also works with clients experiencing issues that impact their well-being such as stress, transitions, separation/divorce, parenting difficulties, relationship difficulties as well as sexuality and gender related concerns.
Dayna has an interest in the relationship between stress, anxiety and perfectionism and how this impacts clients mental and physical health. She believes in a holistic approach to client care, seeing clients general physical health as a key component in positive mental health outcomes. Dayna knows it can be difficult to see a psychologist so she applies a relaxed approach to her sessions and the therapeutic relationship.
Dayna is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychoanalytic approaches, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Emotion-Focussed Therapies (EFT) and Play Therapy.
