DR DEBRA HOUGHTON

Debra will be working at TNC as a part time locum, until July 2023.

Having been a doctor for more than 40 years and GP for at least 30 years, Debra was about to hang up her stethoscope, but with the current need for doctors in Victoria, she has joined The Neighbourhood Clinic for a few sessions a week in 2023.

Debra has worked as a GP in Melbourne and  as a locum GP in rural Victoria. She also works regularly at The Royal Women’s Hospital in the Abortion and Contraception Clinic. She has experience in antenatal care and in management of sexually transmitted infections and enjoys the full range of medical problems that GPs manage.

She is an examiner with the RACGP and an accreditation surveyor with AGPAL.

Cycling, swimming, exercising outdoors and gardening keep her happy and sane out of work hours and when that’s all done, she enjoys reading and learning languages.
