Dr Pavitra Aran Psychologist The Neighbourhood Clinic.jpeg

PhD, MAppPsych (Clin Psych), BA Honours (Psych)

Pav is a Registered Psychologist with a Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology. She is trained in evidence-based assessment and interventions and typically works with adults and adolescents experiencing issues related to depression, anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship conflict, and trauma.

Pav has specialised training in attachment-based approaches and supports parents in developing emotionally available relationships with their infants. She also has unique experience supporting BIPOC health and wellbeing, and is often sought by clients seeking a therapist that can help them navigate sociocultural issues, such as identity, race, and cross-cultural relationships.

Pav has a warm and relaxed approach to therapy. She welcomes clients new to therapy and believes that with the right client-therapist fit,  psychotherapy can be the best tool to help us understand ourselves and our relationships. In her opinion, psychotherapy leads to greater self-reflection and growth, helping us survive and thrive, and leaving us better prepared for life’s uncertainties.
