What to expect in your first Nutrition Counselling appointment with an Eating Disorder Dietitian?
Your first session is a safe space! Here’s what you can expect:

Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you do not need a GP referral to see a dietitian at The Neighbourhood Clinic.
However, there can be Medicare rebates available to you if you are eligible for an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan, prepared by your GP.
An Eating Disorder Treatment Plan supports your treatment by providing Medicare rebates on up to 20 Nutrition Counselling sessions per year with a Dietitian, and up to 40 psychology sessions per year with an eligible Psychologist.
