Emma is a registered psychologist who works with adult clients and young people aged 12 and up. Emma has experience working with diverse client groups in a range of settings. Prior to starting at TNC Emma worked in the community sector, providing individual and family counselling to young people and adults experiencing mental health issues and relationship conflict.
Emma has a particular interest in client issues including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, interpersonal and relationship difficulties, parenting, life transitions and adjustment disorders. She takes a collaborative, person-centred approach, with emphasis on building the therapeutic relationship. She values playfulness, creativity and authenticity in the therapeutic setting. She is flexible and responsive in her approach, tuning into what clients want and how they like to work and tailoring interventions accordingly.
Emma is trained in techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).
